Get started with the Learning Academy

The Learning Academy is where you access, manage, and track your learning. From the dashboard, you can quickly return to recent courses, view newly assigned content, and monitor your progress. You can also open courses to view lessons, resources, and certificates, and manage your personal details through your profile.

This guide outlines how you navigate the HowToo Learning Academy.

The Learning Academy dashboard

The Learning Academy is where you go to access and launch your courses.

When you open the Learning Academy dashboard, you will see the following sections:

• Jump back in - This shows the course or lesson you accessed most recently, so you can quickly continue where you left off.
• For you - This lists all courses that have been assigned to you. Courses are ordered by allocation date, with the most recently allocated course shown first.

Select 'See all' to view your full list of courses. From here, you can filter courses by status:

• Not started - shows courses you have been assigned but have not yet launched
• In progress - shows courses you have started but not yet completed
• Completed - shows courses you have finished and completed successfully

By default, the recently viewed course shows first on the dashboard, but you can use the sort options to organize your courses.

When viewed via 'Jump back in', the sort options are:

• Alphabetical
• Recently viewed
• Due date

When viewed via 'For you', the sort options are:

• Alphabetical
• Recently viewed
• Recently assigned
• Due date

You can also change the sort order to ascending or descending by selecting 'Reverse sorting order'.

Course card indicators

On the Learning Academy dashboard, you will see visual indicators that help you understand your course status at a glance.

• Certificate icon - shows that the course includes a certificate
• Tick icon- shows that you have completed the course

The course thumbnail image should also help you visually identify the course.

Course overlay

When you select a course from the dashboard, the course overlay opens.

Here, you can:

1. View all lessons in the course
2. Access any linked resources
3. Track your overall progress
4. See your assessment score, if applicable
5. Download your certificate, if available

Your progress is based on how many lessons you have completed. For example, if a course has two lessons and you complete one, your progress will show as 50%.

If the course includes an assessment with a pass score, your result will appear here once you attempt it. If you have not attempted it, it displays as 0%.

If a certificate has been assigned and you have completed the course, you can download it from the course overlay or access it from My Achievements.

Profile

This is where you can update your personal details, such as your name and password.

Achievements

Access and download the certificates you have earned from completed courses.

Help

The Help section gives you access to the knowledge base, where you can find guides, tutorials, and support resources.

To access the HowToo knowledge base from the Learning Academy:

1. Select your initials in the upper right-hand corner of your Learning Academy.
2. From the pop-up menu, select 'Help'.

The HowToo knowledge base opens as a new window.

Log out of the Learning Academy

The Log out option allows you to securely sign out of the platform.

To exit the Learning Academy:

1. Select your initials in the upper right-hand corner of your Learning Academy.
2. From the pop-up menu, select 'Logout'.
