Single-topic learning objects are one of two structures for learning objects in HowToo. Single-topic learning objects are defined by their linear structure, rather than the branching structure of complex templates.

The linear structure of single-topic learning objects make them ideal for learning objects with a single topic. Learners move sequentially through the blocks from beginning to end. You can follow the flow of the learning order by observing the arrows in the storyboard view. Blocks are ordered from left to right across each row.
Single-topic learning objects automatically include an introduction and a summary block. These can be deleted, however, they typically serve as important navigation markers for learners, as well as they offering a place to share and reinforce your learning objectives.
To create a single topic learning object:
1. Navigate to your learning object library.
2. Roll your mouse over the 'New learning object' block under 'Start from Scratch'
3. Select 'Single topic'.
