Customise learner dashboard

Customising your learner dashboard is a great way to incorporate your organisation’s branding and what your learners see when they log in to access what has been distributed to them.

The customise academy screen

To customise the learner dashboard select settings and select ‘Customise dashboard’. You will then be at the ‘Customise Academy’ screen where you will see a preview pane, your logo and academy name, a hero banner, welcome message and the current primary colour.

On the ‘Customise academy’ screen you are able to:

• Preview - your changes prior to publishing
• Branding 
  • Insert and update your organisation’s logo
  • Give your learner dashboard a name
• Colours
  • Select a primary colour (usually from your Branding guidelines)
  • Choose a light or dark theme
• Home page
  • Add a welcome message for your learners
  • Insert and edit a Hero banner image
• Publish your changes

Adding your branding

Select the ‘Branding’ button on the sidebar of the Customise academy screen. From there you can upload and edit your organisation’s logo and give your dashboard a name.  

⭐ Tip: Recommended logo dimensions are 200 x 40 px, with a maximum file size of 500kb. Accepted file types are .jpeg and .png.

❗️ Note: When choosing a name for your dashboard you have 20 character limit and it appears directly to the right of your logo. 

 

Changing the primary colour

Changing the primary colour on your learner dashboard impacts the progress bars on all lessons and launch buttons. 

To change the colours select ‘Colours’ from the sidebar.

There are three ways to choose a primary colour. The Hex code, the RGB numbers and a colour picker.

You can also adjust the transparency level of the colour you’ve chosen by sliding the transparency slider. 

There are two general theme choices: Light or dark. You can view the difference in the slideshow at the beginning of the article. 

Customising the home page

The Home page is the first thing your learners will see when logging into your account. There are two customisable elements on the home page; the Hero banner and the Welcome message.

To customise the Home page select ‘Home page’ from the sidebar.

The Hero banner is an image at the top of the page. The recommended Hero banner dimensions are 1920 x 270 px, with a maximum file size of 3mb. Accepted file types are .jpeg and .png.

The Welcome message appears below the Hero banner and has a 50 character limit.

⭐ Tip: You can use the Hero banner or your welcome message as a static permanent visual for your home page, or change it for occasions when you want to alert learners to something new or important.  

❗️ Note:  We recommend you keep your welcome message to a single line so, on smaller screen sizes, your learners aren’t having to scroll too far to get to their lessons.

Publishing your changes

None of your customisation will be visible to learners until you select ‘Publish’. 

After selecting ‘Publish’ you will see a confirmation window with a ‘View Academy’ button to view your changes on the Learner Dashboard.
