Create a new branching scenario
Design branching ‘scenarios and put learners in control of their learning journey.
To create a new branching scenario:
- Open your lesson storyboard in HowToo.
- Click the + icon where you want to add the branching scenario.
- Open the branching category, then select Multi-topic branch home.
Once you’ve selected this block, you’ll observe that a home block has been created with two separate empty branches extending from it. This is the foundation for your branching scenario.
Edit branching scenarios
Editing branching scenarios is very similar to the common functionality of the storyboard editor. You’ll notice you can add blocks, re-arrange branches, and blocks, as well as duplicate blocks and branches.
Add blocks to a branch
- Select the ‘+’ icon to add new blocks to your branching scenario.
Add additional branches
- Hover over the branch scenario and select the ‘+’ plus icon that appears between the branches.
❗️ Note: You can only add up to 10 branches per scenario.
Delete branches
- Select the hamburger icon, next to the branch title
- Select delete and then confirm you would like to delete the entire branch
❗️ Note: Deleting a branch will delete all blocks contained within that branch.
Delete a branching scenario
- Select the hamburger icon on the multi-split branch home block
- Select delete and then confirm you would like to delete the entire branching scenario
❗️ Note: Deleting an entire branching scenario will delete all branches and the blocks contained within that branch.
Re-arrange blocks and branches
Just like with blocks you can drag and re-arrange blocks and branches. You can also select the branch home to move the entire scenario to a different location within your storyboard.
Navigate branching scenarios
When learners land on the multi-topic branch homepage, they will be prompted to choose from the options displayed on the screen. Upon selecting an option, learners will be presented with blocks within that branch.
