Lock forward navigation until the learner has completed a topic

You can restrict navigation for learners so that they are required to interact with all interactive elements of a block before they can progress to the next block.

With restricted navigation, learners must play videos and audio, or flip cards, or open click-and-reveals or submit answers to questions (and so on) before the 'Next' button is made available. They cannot use the navigation menu to skip blocks.

Without restricted navigation, learners can navigate past blocks without interacting with the elements (excluding blocks in a formal Assessment section). They can also use the navigation menu to skip forward and over blocks without completing the blocks before.

By default, navigation is not restricted.

Who can use this feature?

To lock or unlock restricted navigation:

1. Navigate to the storyboard view of your lesson.
2. Select Settings from the top right-hand corner of the view.
3. Select the Navigation tab of the Settings menu.
4. Under Progress Lock, use the toggle buttons to adjust the navigation restrictions according to your preference.

❗ Note: Lock each topic until previous topic is completed will only appear for multi-topic templates.
