A theme is a consistent and cohesive visual style that is added to all the blocks in your lesson. The theme designer allows you to select navigation styles, add your logo and customise a range of colors.
To create your first theme:
- Select ‘Theme designer’ from the side bar
- Select ‘+ New theme’ option in the secondary side bar and give your theme a name
Perfect, now you are ready to start designing your theme. Read on to learn more about all the customization options you have available.

Navigating your theme design dashboard
The Theme designer dashboard is where you’ll find everything to create and manage your themes.
- Create new themes
- Edit existing themes
- View themes by status
- Search for a specific theme
- Select your default theme
- and archive current themes
Design a theme
The theme designer editor is where you can select the general styling for navigation and block styles, select colours, add fonts and preview your theme. When you are happy with your theme you can also publish your theme from this page, to make it available to add to your lessons.
⭐ Tip: Remember to carefully consider the naming convention so you can easily identify your themes when adding them to lessons.
❗️ Note: New themes are automatically saved to your Drafts tab. Once published they are available to use with your lessons.
General styling
The general styling section allows you to:
- Select a navigation style
- Add your logo
- Select your transition style (slide styles only)
- and Add or remove navigation buttons.
Pro plans can also select a block style.
Colors
The colors section allows you to:
- Customize the navigation interface colors
- Add shaded text boxes
- Customize block elements and text colors
- Customize interactive component colors
- Customize feedback colors
- Select a preset or save your colors as a preset
⭐ Tip: If you do not have a Professional plan, you will have limited color options. You can use the preset options to select a light or a dark theme, to update your text, and background colors. Live preview
The live preview is an interactive preview. You can see all your changes here, and click on different on page elements to preview how your theme will look on a lesson.
There is also a full screen live preview that allows you to preview what your theme will look like on iPad, mobile and desktop devices.
Publish
When you are happy with your theme, select publish. Published themes can then be added to any lesson of your choice.
The publish confirmation screen will also ask you if you would like to make your theme the ‘default’ theme. Default themes are automatically added to any newly created lessons.
Add to lessons
You can choose to add your published theme to lessons in the settings panel of your lesson. Themes can be added to more than one lesson.
