Editing your blocks a the key component to creating your courses.
To edit your blocks, you will need to be in the editor view of your lesson. Open the storyboard view of your lessons, then roll your mouse over the block you wish to edit and select Edit to enter the editor view.

Add text
- Select a block type containing text.
- Select the relevant body of text.
- Add and edit the text.
- If available, you can use the rich text option bar above the body to apply different formats.
Add images
- Select a block type containing image.
- Select the image section in the block. New blocks will automatically include a placeholder image in the space.
- Select 'Browse library' from the left-hand sidebar.
- Select an image from your image library or the HowToo library.
- Select 'Use this media'.
Add video
- Select a block type containing video.
- Select the video in the block. New blocks will automatically include a placeholder video in the space.
- Select 'Browse library' from the left-hand sidebar.
- Select a video file from your library or the HowToo library.
- Select 'Use this media'.
Add audio
- Select a block type containing audio.
- Select the audio bar in the block.
- Select 'Browse library' from the left-hand sidebar.
- Select an audio file from your library or the HowToo library.
- Select 'Use this media'.
Alternatively, to embed a video in a block:
- Select the video section of the block.
- In the left-hand sidebar, switch the toggle from File to URL.
- Enter the URL of the video you wish to embed in the text entry field below.
❗️ Note: If the video at the URL destination is changed or removed, this may impact the performance of your embedded video in your lesson.
Add audio overlay
You can add an additional audio overlay to any kind of block, with an accompanying transcript. This feature is different to the audio bars included in some multimedia blocks.
❗️ Note: Even if you have selected Restricted Navigation for your lesson, users will NOT be required to listen to this audio piece. Therefore, avoid using this feature for critical learning content.
- Select the 'Audio' drop-down from the left-hand menu.
- Use the 'Browse Library' or 'Upload file here' buttons to select or upload your desired audio piece.
- Use the'Transcript' field in the left-hand sidebar to add a transcript of the audio piece.
Manage URLs
Add a URL
- Select the relevant text box, and then use your cursor to highlight the text you wish to turn into a hyperlink.
- Select the link icon from the rich formatting options bar above the text section.
- Enter the URL into the text entry box.
- Select 'Save', or press 'Enter' or 'Return' on your keyboard to save the URL.
Remove a URL:
- Click the hyperlinked text.
- A preview of the link will appear. Select the trash icon on the right side of the pop-up to remove the URL.
Change backgrounds
Use an image as a background
- Select 'Background' from the left sidebar.
- To add an image, select 'Browse library' or 'Upload file here'.
Use a solid color as a background
- To use a solid color, select the color circle next to Color.
- Choose your preferred color using the color picker, or enter a HEX code to apply a specific color.
Adjust background
- You can adjust the opacity and choose the position, such as left, right, or full screen.
- You can also choose whether to apply the background across all blocks or to a single block.
Include additional resources
- Navigate to the storyboard view of your lesson:
- Select 'Settings' in the top right-hand corner of the view
- Select the 'Resources' tab.
- Select Add URL to add a weblink, or Upload file here to upload a wide range of text, image, audio and video files, including:
- .doc / .docx
- .txt
- .png
- .jpeg
- .svg
- .mp3
- .mp4
- .mov
