What is a large course?
A large course will generate a file 5GB or larger.
Reducing the size of your course
Videos, audio and images are the largest contributors to course file size, and have a significant impact on HowToo's ability to publish your course.
Tips for reducing your course size:
- If you have large videos, try embedding them instead of uploading them.
- If you have large images, try using PNG files and compressing them.
- Considering breaking your large course into several smaller lessons. This also helps avoid cognitive overload for your learners.
Exporting a large course anyway
If you're really committed to exporting your course as a large file, try the following steps:
- Export your course.
- Go have a cup of coffee, because this is going to take a while. You can close the page or your laptop. The system will handle everything behind the scenes.
- Some time later, return to your account, and find your export history.
- Find the course you just exported, and download it.
❗️ Note: Even if you are able to successfully export and download your large course, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to upload it to your LMS or LXP of choice, and you may need to contact the relevant support for that platform.
